China Wins NAFTA Super-Highway Battle
'China is investing heavily in developing deep-water ports in Mexico to bring an unprecedented volume of containers into the U.S. along the emerging NAFTA Super Highway. This move signals China’s emergence as the unexpected economic winner in the North American Union free market.'

Fwd: Letter to the Editor..
"Terrorists dont want Peace "(Aug 9th) letter parrots the simplistic line that
George Bush and Steve Harper have been pushing (sucessfully) to the American
public. A public that doesnt read history or understand Israels continued brutal annexation of
their neighbors lands and resources, always using the excuse they need this for "security"
Those that know the real history know that the "democracy' of Israel has encouraged
so-called settlers to grab huge tracts of Palestinian land outside their borders in
prime locations. This has left Palestinians water and resource starved and put the IDF
in absolute control of 75% of their water. Is this the " democracy" that R.Forshaw
would like for Canada? Would he accept special status only for those of one religion?
I doubt it.
We are led to believe that the Arabs that resist are all evil "terrorists" as they leave
the womb and do not want the peace they had before the West decided to interfere
and turn a blind eye to the annexing of their homes ,lands, and resources. When
westerners resist forced occupation we are noble "freedom fighters".....when the original
land owners of Palestine resist the high-tech, US- funded Israeli occupation with inexpensive guerrillla tactics they are cowardly "terrorists"Other "evil" Arab nations should not help
their neighbors defend themselves, but it is fine for the freedom-loving US to arm Isreael with billions in offensive weapons and a nuclear stockpile.
The attitude of simply eliminating individuals or groups that resist this occupation might sound good to those sitting in relative comfort and security in the West. However, unless the root causes of this issue are dealt with fairly, the population of this region will always support those that have the courage to stand up to Isreael's might. Peace will require real diplomacy and an evenhanded approach to Arab nations. Hitler thought he could exterminate all resistance
with high-technology , occupation of others lands, and assasinating those that resisted.(He
labelled them terrorists!) Steven, the US and Israel seem to be in denial of this reality. It is time for a ceasefire and for Western powers to balance the needs and views of both sides involved in this senseless, unnecessary bloodbath.
Thank you....

New Ruler's of the World
A documentary film by John Pilger
'Global economy' is a modern Orwellian term. On the surface, it is instant financial trading, mobile phones, McDonald's, Starbucks, holidays booked on the net. Beneath this gloss, it is the globalisation of poverty, a world where most human beings never make a phone call and live on less than two dollars a day, where 6,000 children die every day from diarrhea because most have no access to clean water.

Israel - 'We Are Untouchable'
By Tanya Hsu
8-5-6
We are Israel. We are untouchable. No matter what we do the international community will not act against us. Oh, there will be talks at the United Nations but we know that the United States will intervene on our behalf. There will be Arab League discussions but we know that no state will take action against us. There will be mass protests and demonstrations; there will be activists and advocates begging for peace; there will be rallies and fundraisers to help the targets of our bombs. And we know that nothing will make a difference because...
